Stuttgart Innovation Days from 17 to 18 of September 2024
7th Stuttgart Innovation Days: Software-defined manufacturing
Join experts from industry and research at the Stuttgart Innovation Days on 17 and 18 September 2024 in Stuttgart.
Invitation and programme
The theme of the seventh Stuttgart Innovation Days is software-defined manufacturing. This approach enables the flexible planning, control and adaptation of individual components through to entire factories using software. In addition to many exciting presentations from industry and research, the event also offers detailed results from the joint project SFM4FZI.
Focus day 1:
Digital twins are a key element of the SDM concept. They describe products, processes and production systems with the help of data, information and behavioural models that are generated over the entire life cycle of the machine or product. The second essential building block for implementing SDM is a production OT that makes it possible to distribute automatically generated software to production systems in real time and in an interoperable manner. To this end, the method of virtualisation is used to separate software and hardware by means of an abstraction layer.
Focus on day 2:
SDM provides the basis for many application examples and business models. Examples include the virtual optimisation of production processes, simulation-supported engineering and the virtual testing of automatically generated software. Added value can also be created across companies with the data generated over the entire life cycle of a product.
Accompanying the programme
In addition to informative presentations, the programme offers companies the opportunity to present their latest innovations from various fields. During the pitches and in the breaks, you will have the opportunity to talk directly to the exhibitors and gain deeper insights into their products.
A special highlight is the guided tour of the Institute of Control Engineering, where you will not only learn about current fields of research such as software-defined manufacturing, digital twins, simulation, drive technology and cable robotics, but also have the opportunity to get in touch with the researchers directly.
The coffee and lunch breaks offer the opportunity to discuss innovations in automation technology in depth with experts and make valuable contacts in a relaxed atmosphere. Finally, a joint dinner invites all participants to continue the discussions and deepen the networking.
Our contribution is to supplement the manual control of production systems with voice-controlled software solutions in order to simplify and improve work processes. We develop robust speech recognition systems for industrial environments and automated AI-based applications for adaptable production. We look forward to meeting you in person.

Pitch talk at the KI-Connect in Karlsruhe on 25 June 2024
